A Charging Station

A patient can spend more time in the waiting area than the dentist’s chair. Maybe it’s time for an upgrade—or at least a chat about it.

You’ll never go wrong with pleasant colors, warm lighting, and comfortable chairs. A waiting area is a place that should be pleasant for others. You may appreciate a bold Picasso print, but a natural landscape might be a more soothing choice–especially for apprehensive patients. If you value your clients, there is another way to improve their visit and show them you care.

Waiting is boring. That’s why glossy-paged periodicals are still found on the occasional office end table and wall rack. In gentler times, magazines and newspapers were how human beings learned things and killed boredom. Not anymore. We no longer peruse the printed page. We require electricity. Too often, that kind of power is not made available.

Doctors who respect their clients provide charging docks and electrical connections whenever possible. It’s a kind way to say, “I know you are a busy person, too. I’d like to make sure your visit to this office is pleasant and productive, even if you are only waiting for your child to get a quick cleaning.”

A quality charging station is an easy way to make sure the occasional extra-long wait is forgotten. A person who is using their laptop or surfing on their phone is not waiting. Neither is someone who watches fun animal videos.
